June 28, 2004: NHGRI Established Centers of Exellence in Genomic Science at Havard and Johns Hopkins University

The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) announced that two new Centers of Excellence in Genomic Science (CEGS) were established at Harvard Medical School in Boston and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore. These two CEGS became the pivotal cradles for genomic research in the following decade.
