November 12, 1946: English Geneticist Veronica Van Heyningen was Born
Veronica van Heyningen (November 12, 1946 – present) is an English geneticist specialising in human eye disease especially anophthalmia. Heyningen’s work has a great contribution to the diagnosis and the etiology of the disease. She was awarded the 2007 Fellow of the Royal Society, and was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2010 Birthday Honours.
