英国爱丁堡大学教授 Matthew H. Kaufman（1942 年 09 月 29 日 – 2013 年 08 月 11 日）与 Martin Evans 和 Gail R. Martin 同为最早从小鼠分离出胚胎干细胞的科学家，而 Kaufman 后来也以小鼠胚胎干细胞为基础，谱出小鼠从胚胎发展到成鼠的基因调控变化，曾出版过四本小鼠胚胎学专书与发表过无数胚胎学和医学相关论文。
