Huebner医师 (Robert Joseph Huebner；1914年2月23日－1998年8月26日）在1969年和GeorgeTodaro一同提出“致癌基因”的概念，认为细胞癌变是由于病毒基因组中的癌基因引起的，癌基因是病毒基因组的一部分，会造成正常细胞转化为癌细胞。
